Software Testing

Apply your QA experience to test cases, failed checks, and clear defect reports. Review results against a specification and explain exactly where the behavior falls short.

The Opportunity

Experienced testers know that finding a problem is only part of the job. This track also calls for explaining the expected result, recording what actually happened, and giving enough detail for someone else to understand the failure. Assignments use software quality assurance skills alongside structured output evaluation and data-quality review.

For example, an output might satisfy the obvious part of a requirement while failing a less common case. A useful report describes that case, records the result, and ties the issue back to the specification. Depending on the assignment, you may also label examples, assess predictions, or look for patterns across repeated failures.

The selected opportunity values test planning, test execution, defect documentation, and clear English communication. Familiarity with annotation or model evaluation can help, but established QA experience is the core skill. The project defines its tools, review criteria, and deliverables before work starts; available assignments are not guaranteed.

What You’ll Work On

  • Design or apply test cases based on defined requirements.
  • Check outputs against expected results and document failures.
  • Record reproduction steps and distinguish observed behavior from assumptions.
  • Review or label data according to the assignment guidelines.
  • Identify recurring errors and communicate findings clearly to reviewers.

What You’ll Bring

  • Software quality assurance experience, including test design, execution, and defect reporting.
  • Clear written English and careful documentation of results.
  • Ability to apply requirements consistently and collaborate on review findings.
  • Data annotation, labeling, or model-evaluation experience is useful; prior AI experience is not required.

How the Projects Work

Projects involve testing AI-generated outputs, evaluating model predictions, or reviewing training data. The work is project-based and follows defined quality criteria; tools, eligibility, and availability vary.

Before You Apply

Project availability, eligibility, and selection vary. Applying does not guarantee work or earnings.
