The Opportunity

This track draws on practical software development experience: reading unfamiliar code, checking whether it meets requirements, explaining architecture choices, and documenting a solution so another developer can use it. The selected opportunity focuses on Python, Java, JavaScript or Node.js, and full-stack development, with a preference for at least five years of professional experience.

For example, a review could examine whether an implementation handles an edge case or whether a proposed architecture creates avoidable maintenance problems. A useful contribution explains the issue, supports the judgment with evidence, and provides a clear alternative where requested. Some assignments also ask for programming examples and explanations that demonstrate how an experienced developer approaches a problem.

The work is organized around project deliverables rather than a promise of a permanent development position. The relevant languages, scope, assessment, and payment terms are confirmed during selection. Prior AI experience is not required for the selected track; established software expertise is the starting point.

What You’ll Work On

  • Review code for functionality, performance, and adherence to requirements.
  • Develop clear programming examples and explain the reasoning behind them.
  • Assess architecture choices and identify maintainability concerns.
  • Write technical documentation that supports implementation and review.
  • Communicate defects, tradeoffs, and proposed improvements clearly.

What You’ll Bring

  • Preferred: 5 or more years of professional development experience in Python, Java, JavaScript or Node.js, or full-stack technologies.
  • Experience reviewing code and working with complex software systems.
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation and explanations.
  • Comfort working independently on remote project deliverables; prior AI experience is not required.

How the Projects Work

Projects use code reviews, programming examples, and technical explanations to train and evaluate AI systems. These are contractor assignments, with scope, eligibility, and available work confirmed for each project.
