Legal Work

Apply your contract, compliance, or legal-writing experience to paid document reviews. Identify ambiguities, research the relevant rules, and explain the reasoning behind your conclusions.

The Opportunity

This track is for licensed lawyers with substantial practice experience in contract law, compliance, or a closely related area. It draws on familiar legal work: reviewing a clause, examining the authority behind a conclusion, drafting precise language, and explaining why an ambiguity matters. The selected opportunity lists active bar admission and at least five years of practice as preferred qualifications.

For example, a review could identify a contract provision that permits two interpretations or a legal explanation that overlooks an important qualification. Useful feedback points to the specific issue, identifies the relevant legal context, and explains what a more accurate treatment would require. The jurisdiction and applicable standards are established by the assignment.

Clear writing matters as much as spotting a problem. Contributors need to explain legal distinctions to reviewers who may not share their specialty and support their judgments with appropriate reasoning. These are project-based contributions to training materials, not a promise of client representation or an ongoing legal-services engagement.

What You’ll Work On

  • Review contract language for risks, ambiguities, and missing qualifications.
  • Research relevant statutes, regulations, and case law for the assigned context.
  • Draft or evaluate legal passages for accuracy and clarity.
  • Assess compliance issues within the jurisdictions specified by the project.
  • Explain legal judgments and proposed corrections in clear written rationales.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong contract review, legal research, and legal-writing skills.
  • Ability to interpret the relevant jurisdiction and communicate legal nuance precisely.
  • Comfort working independently on remote, project-based assignments.

How the Projects Work

Projects involve reviewing legal content and contributing explanations or examples for AI training. They are evaluation assignments, not client representation. Jurisdiction, credential eligibility, and available work are confirmed for each project.
